Cycling Mount Etna
Etna's southern slope offers cycling routes for every level: from easy rides through vineyards and dry-stone walls to more demanding climbs toward the high-altitude woods. It's one of Sicily's most loved spots for cycle touring, thanks to views over the volcano and the Ionian coast.
For those who'd rather skip the steeper climbs, several rental points in the area offer e-bikes — a convenient way to enjoy the scenery without giving up a challenging ascent or two.
We recommend setting off during the cooler hours of the day, especially in summer, and always checking weather conditions at altitude before tackling the longer routes.
